Routes of 14, 33, 60, 80 and 100 miles

I rode the 100 mile route last Sunday and I just wanted to say thanks for putting on a great event.  That was my first time riding that far and I know that all of the efforts of the many volunteers made it possible for me to do so.  The course was marked well – I went off course briefly, but it was my own fault because I was too bust trying to rush through an intersection and I neglected to look down to see that I was supposed to turn left instead of going straight.  The ONLY minor thing that you may want to consider next time is that it was hard to cross 301 in the very beginning.  The traffic light wasn’t triggered by our bikes and we had quite a large group waiting for a green light when I tried to go through.  We ended up barreling through on our own once we realized we weren’t getting a green light.  I think a simple fix would be to have a volunteer with a car down there to trigger the green light.  Other than that – it was great, so “thanks!”  Are you planning on holding this event next year as well?

Respectfully,
Andy

I enjoyed participating in your first bike tour this year.  It was a fun ride and the weather cooperated nicely.  Your staff was very helpful and friendly so please thank them, they did a great job.  Hope you continue this next year, I’ll definitely be talking this up with the bicycle folks I ride with.  Thanks for all your hard work, it showed.  I hope this was successful for you.

The event was well planned.  I liked the overlapping routes with multiple access to return route.  Route was well marked – makes for more enjoyable ride so that I did not have to look at que sheet.  Well done!

Easy registration – friendly, helpful staff at start and rest stops.  Great directions and map.  A big thank you to the person who wrote “this is your last hill” on Rt. 6 coming into La Plata.  Casey Jones after party was great!  Thank you, I’ll be there with friends again next year.

Susan

Thanks for organizing and hosting the first annual Potomac Heritage Bicycle Tour.  It was easily one of the highlights of my bike riding in 2008.  I look forward to next year!
